Artist statement
the images in these galleries represent different bodies of my artistic expression and my on-going life’s work.
“as a young art student I was inspired by a painting professor who created an exercise where we were instructed to view objects through a small square that was cut on a piece of cardboard. he encouraged us to look at objects and how they merged with others creating an abstract design through the tiny viewpoint. we were asked to draw and then paint what we saw, creating abstract paintings from this different perspective.
from that tiny viewpoint a whole new world opened up to me.
as I expanded my body of work to include painting with light through the eyes of a photographic lens, I found myself capturing images in the same manner I had many years prior in that painting class.
being within nature is one of my delights. I reap so much benefit from being out in earth mother discovering the beauty of all of her creation through the eye of my camera.
the body of work called abstracts in nature and abstracts with water began several years ago and is still part of what and how I capture the world.
viewing these images brings you with me and I am honored to share these findings with you.”
thank you..
